The Lonely Christmas Song

Just over 3 years ago I wrote a Christmas song to suit how I was feeling at the time. I myself was fresh out of a long term relationship and coming to terms with my life. Needless to say I was not doing well.

As I wrote this song I realized that there weren’t many carols available for people going through times such as this. Every year there are people traveling, those that have lost someone special through a breakup or passing away, and those that simply find the so called ‘jolly’ season depressing. It’s a strange world and unfortunately it doesn’t stop for that one special day each year.

The song tells a tale about how things can change in a persons life over the years. It does end on a positive note, and as you can hear towards the end of the song I got about 20 of my friends together to help me sing the final verse. That was a fun day, yet I still remember the torture I was going through at the time and how lonely I was really feeling.

Many people have asked me why I call myself ‘The Lonely Spaceman’. Well, it’s a hell of a long story and I won’t bore you with it today, yet I do often see myself standing on a new planet in front of a baron land, amazed yet simultaneously daunted by the unknown that lays before me. The last 3 years have been a testament to that analogy, yet as much as I have learned, it’s time to go back to the drawing board.

A fresh new breakup and a fresh new look at life has changed my path. Or if I wanted to keep that analogy going I might say that I have explored this current planet to death and now it is finally time to move on and explore something different. Although this page will stay open it may go quite for a bit, or it may not, possibly it might transform, time will tell.

I would thank all the lovely readers/listeners with their positive feedback and challenges towards the philosophical aspects of everything scientific and spiritual. I also have enjoyed reading others blogs and seeing such growth in many others over the past 3 years.

If I have learned anything over the past couple of years it is the power of perception and focus, and also the importance of acceptance in being one self. We are here (in one form or another) therefore it is meant to be. We know this to be true by the pure evidence that we do exist. And if you are ‘awake’ (take that how you wish) then it worth simply taking a detour once in a while for no other reason than you want to. The world will still continue and be there for you when you get back, but until then, why not just be spontaneous.

Below is the link to ‘The Lonely Christmas Song’ but remember, with 7 billion people on this earth you are never truly lonely. Yet, if you are feeling this way then you can always drop all of your possessions, walk outside and talk to random strangers. Until you do this you will never know the doors in your mind that are locked. As it is these strangers that are going to be the most interesting people you have ever met in your life.
